Energy - Solid State

A solid-state battery replaces the conventional liquid electrolyte, composed of organic solvents and Li salts found in Li-ion batteries, with a solid electrolyte. Doing this provides safety benefits by reducing flammability and the risk of explosion. Solid electrolytes can also allow you to use Li-metal, which can significantly increase the battery's energy density. Though this technology has associated challenges, large players such as Toyota and Toshiba are already addressing these limitations.

The market is expected to grow quickly in the coming years, with automotive OEMs, material suppliers, and investors driving this technology forwards.
